Shawn Dorman joined Forsberg & Evans Law Offices in 2025 as a legal analyst. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 1996, following his graduation magna cum laude from BYU with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1992.
Shawn began his legal career with the law firm of Vannah, Costello, Canepa & Riedy in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he worked first as a law clerk and later as an attorney. During his time in private practice, he assisted in the representation of medical malpractice victims, conducted depositions and discovery, drafted appellate briefs, argued motions, and negotiated settlements.
In 1999, Shawn transitioned into religious education, teaching and later supervising seminary programs for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From 2008 to 2025, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Religious Education at Brigham Young University–Idaho. He brings to the firm nearly three decades of experience in teaching, writing, and analytical work.
At Forsberg & Evans, Shawn assists attorneys with legal research, drafting, and analysis across matters involving estate planning, property law, business law, and civil litigation.
Shawn has lived in the Rexburg area for many years and enjoys serving the local community. He and his wife, Jennifer, are the parents of ten children and grandparents to nine—so far. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, fishing, following BYU sports, and spending time with his family.
